Happy New Year everyone. This is our first blog post for 2019. We are going to try hard to be more active on social media this year. Speaking of social media ...long gone are the days of advertising in local papers and magazines. Let's face it social media is where it's at! Look at these staggering stats...

Social media statistics

I have been meaning to share a way to get customers through your shop doors, but my old lady brain keeps forgetting. Does your shop need a little something extra to entice customers to come inside? Well, I'm quite certain you have a lovely shop and probably need very little help but this method is a sure fire way to get gain some new customers.

It's called a photo op wall. I have mainly seen these done at bridal fairs and barn sales. Even though I'm no longer shooting wedding photography I still attend bridal shows from time to time. All the big junk shows have amazing photo ops for the attendees. Now you can too. Just find a designated area in your shop and create a gorgeous backdrop for customers to stop and take photos. Then ask them to tag your shop in their photo when they share it on social media.

For instance, if Booth Crush were an actual store and we created a photo op for the month of February we might use a hashtag like this #boothcrushlove
When they share it on social media that is priceless advertising for your shop. They are putting it out there in front of all their family and friends which will encourage them to also want to visit your shop so they too, can get in on the photo action. This not only creates a buzz for your photo wall but it's going to gain you new customers that may not have heard about your shop otherwise.

Some customers will share your shop info when they post their photos but you can also take it a step further by telling them you will give them a 10% (or whatever amount) discount on their next purchase if they spend X amount of dollars and tag your shop in the photo.

In case you are wondering what kind of photo wall to create the possibilities are endless. You can change your photo wall out by the season or by the holiday. Just check out Pinterest to get some amazing ideas.

The photos from here down were all found on Pinterest. When you do your own Pinterest search some keywords to use in your search are: vintage backdrop, wedding backdrop, party backdrop

Another idea is using those Face in the hole props. You know the ones you see when you are a tourist on vacay? For those of you that have mad talent, painting skills you could create something fun for your store...like some old ladies holding pieces of junk etc.

Although these were not my ideas, I still wanted to share them. We are here to inspire and help your business. If you decide to incorporate any of these ideas into your business plese feel free to share your photos with us. Email us at BoothCrush@gmail.com
