Makeover Monday Week No 2

Welcome to week two of Makeover Monday. Today we are sharing a chest of drawers makeover from Karen over at Vintage Mulberry Street I love the size of this piece and those chunky knobs and scalloped bottom are just perfect!

This next makeover has me drooling over those ornate details. This dresser makeover was shared by Emily of Cedar Creek Boutique

Great job, ladies. Thank you for sharing. If you have a great makeover and would like to be included in future Monday Makeover blog posts please submit your before and after photos, along with your shop name to BoothCrush@gmail.com

This next pic is mine. I can't remember if it was shared in another blog post or not. I apologize if it is a repeat. I found this cute little picnic looking desk at an auction for $10. It was dirty, but solid wood. I gave it a good cleaning and a coat of chalk and it was as good as new. I paired it with a $5 vintage bistro chair and sold the set for $120. Easy peasy flip.

Display Risers for Usage and Selling

Display Ideas

One of our readers recently asked us to suggest some display ideas that could be used as well as sold. We have done blog posts on just about every other kind of display so we thought we would share a few ideas. Risers make good displays as they add visual interest. Risers came be handmade like in this next photo. I think these are gorgeous and would look great if you could use some recycled lumber with chippy paint.

Other items you can use are stools. I love using these and when I'm out junkin I'm always on the lookout for them. These are so easy to paint great for staging and often a good seller.

Although this next idea is not a riser, I loved the concept. If you were going to display this on top of a table, you could leave off the legs. Just think of all the pretty wallpapers you could add to the back. I think you could also achieve this look by framing up some 1x4's.

This next idea was taken from Craft Hackers. They even have step-by-step tutorial on their blog on how to build this display.

Audrey made this beautiful steps after she say a similar set sell on ebay. Click here to see more.

These adorable spools are available through Antique Farmhouse

Remember you can always stack smaller tables on larger table to create displays. Or take a coffee table and split it in half to create this adorable display. Image from Remodelaholic

Or how about an entire wall with old tables. This idea is great, but if you went to all this trouble to build this more than likely you would not want to sell it. But I thought I would share it anyway for inspiration.

Monday Makeover

Annie Sloan Chalk Paint

Hi friends. I hope your week is off to a great start. Today has been a rough day, but trying to get through it and stay positive. We are starting a new feature on the blog called: Makeover Monday. Each week we will feature some of your best makeovers. So be sure to get those before and after photos and submit them to BoothCrush@gmail.com.

For this installment I am sharing a frame I found while out junkin. Now, you may be thinking that's not so bad and you are right. It was actually a beautiful frame. It is large, solid wood and very ornate. However, when I got to looking closely the wood had a lot of cracks and splits in it. When I first spotted it I thought instantly it's going to be a chalkboard. That was before I surveyed the condition. I am not sure what it used to be in it's previous life, mirror maybe! After I pondered it for a while I decided to come up with a jewelry holder.

I painted it with Annie Sloan's French linen and dry brushed the edges in pure white. I then added those screw in hooks to hold jewelry. It was an easy makeover. I ended up loving it so much I decided to keep it for myself. Isn't that the way it happens. Here are the after images.

We hope you enjoyed this makeover and will be inspired to get creative. Be sure to share with us for a chance to get featured on the blog. Happy painting!

Feature Friday

Antique Booth

CB Painted and Distressed

222 Walnut St

Fort Collins, Colorado

Happy Friday friends. We want to start a new blog each week where we feature different booths every Friday. So if you are interested in getting featured please share a photo on the our Facebook page, in the comments section of this post.

We don't feature very many smaller booths, only because we don't see that many. We were loving this one. The walls are white with pops of color. This makes it a lot easier to change out your color scheme. She also used used those dog ear picket fence panels which makes hanging things a breeze!
